DIY Kitchen Art - Eat well, Travel Often

I've been debating what to put over our kitchen table for a long time now.

I'm sick of staring at our wedding pictures and I feel like people are just freaked out when they walk into our place.. it's like a shrine of ourselves. So a wedding pic/wall collage was a no.

I also considered just a random collage of items but I feel that because our apartment is already pretty small, it would be best to just go with something that is simple. But fun, of course.

Then, I wanted something "food-ish" or related to the kitchen.. and then I saw this quote on Pinterest and knew exactly what I would do!

So I took this old canvas I had and spray painted it white. I didn't let it dry for a day (I only waited about an hour- which I should NOT have done- the paint ended up leaking through the paper I put on top) Then I cut out letters from paper that I printed out and put the cut-out paper over the canvas. Then I spray painted over it all with gold. I peeled off the paper and hung it up. I think it looks pretty good!
