School Schmool

School is about to start, this Tuesday.  And what does that mean? I'm officially a JUNIOR in college! The downward slope to graduation has begun.  Only two more years sugar.

First things first though, I'm nervous. Silly, I know.  But, this is my first time ever going to college, working part time, and being married.  I just really hope the monster doesn't come out from hiding and scare the daylights out of Devin. It's been known to do that sometimes.

Buying a new car, weddings, birthdays and more!

Phew! Sorry about not posting in a few days... This last week or so has been crazy!

When we got back from St. George, I was able to hang out with Tiffany and Alex one last time before they left for England and Logan!  That was a blast! We went shoe shopping, ate cafĂ© rio, and topped it off with cold stone. Not too bad, not too bad.

Devin and I went to Kid Cudi! It was awesome! Even with a guy throwing up one foot away from me, being rubbed up all over by sweaty people, fearing that people climbing the tree above me would fall on me, and probably getting high from second hand smoke.

A few days later Devin and I were talking about getting a bigger car. The coupe just seemed a little too small. I at least wanted a four door, and had always wanted something like a crossover or a smaller SUV. He was talking with his buddy that owns a dealership when he told him he just got in a Nissan Xterra. We saw it and I loved it already. It had a rail on the front that made it look so beastly! And it was big enough for all of our crap and more! It will make a great starter family car (in like 5 years – don’t worry). And, it will sell for a lot more if we ever decide to get rid of it. PLUS our buddy gave us a screamin deal on it. It was a no brainer. I LOVE IT!!!

That same weekend we went to my friend Lauren’s wedding. It was adorable. I wanted to pinterest the whole thing! Devin and I aren’t sure if we’re happier that they are married or that they will be a new couple friend to hang out with… hmm….

It was Zanie’s birthday over the weekend! He turned 14. What? I know, I freaked out too! Where the heck does the time go? Well, we had a birthday dinner at my family’s house where we had delicious burgers, salad, fruit and cake! The salad my aunt made looked so freaking good I just had to take a picture. (Oh we also met her boyfriend Dwayne! He seems pretty cool)

Finally we got our Wedding Video! I can’t believe it’s finished. I absolutely love it. It definitely made me cry all over again. I can’t believe how amazing our wedding day was. It was utterly perfect. And on top of that, I can’t believe how amazing my husband is. I can’t express how grateful I am to have married such an amazing guy, someone that compliments me perfectly. I <3 him.

St. George, Utah

This last weekend was a blast! We woke up on Friday morning and went to Krispy Kreme for Devin’s business partner’s birthday. After we successfully spiked our blood sugar levels we split up Dev went to an important meeting with someone from Africa and Maddie (Mike’s wife) and I went home. I started packing, Devin got back from his meeting and we left!  We checked in to our hotel when we got there. It was really nice and had a great pool! We dropped our bags. Devin hit the gym and I went and got a pedi and mani! It was heaven. I usually stick to corals in the summer but I switched it up this time!

Afterwards we headed to a free outdoor show. There was music and dancing, free popcorn, games, a movie outside, and even a carousel going. It was fun! We hung out there for quite some time until we got tired and headed back to the hotel where we promptly conked out.

The next day we hung out by the pool for like 6 hours. I forgot how much fun swimming is! Devin and I acted like 3 year olds again and played games in the pool. It was so fun! We even got some sun J My face got a little burnt L After we got ready to go out. We went and saw RIPD (my choice and it was hilarious I must say) and then went to dinner at the Pizza and Pasta factory. Mmmm. It was delicious! On the way back to the hotel we stopped at the St. George temple. There were cute sister missionaries in the visitor’s center whom we talked with for quite a while. Devin got a Spanish Book of Mormon to replace the one that was stolen on his mission. We walked around the temple grounds It was breathtaking. I love temples! It’s seriously the closest place to God on this earth. We left for the hotel and watched the Walking Dead the rest of the night. Mwah hah hah hah.

The next day was Sunday. We woke up late and missed our hotel’s breakfast so we went out for food. Devin’s food habits are very different than mine (see picture below J). After that we met up with one of his mission buddies and his wife. They were so cute! But I can’t believe they’re pregnant and haven’t even been married an entire year. It’s crazy to me! After chatting with them we hit the road.
I LOVED THIS LAST WEEKEND! I can’t believe how fun it is to just leave and not have any plans. It was awesome and I’d totally do it again in a heart-beat!

Concerts

Life has gotten a little crazy in the Zundel household. Devin’s business is really starting to take off and he has been working his butt  off lately. On top of that, he’s trying to balance me….. Poor guy.

I can only imagine how stressed he is! I know a few weeks ago he talked about going to Kid Cudi in the Twilight Series Concerts, but I’m almost positive he’s forgotten about it under all the stress! I thought I’d show him a little love and surprise him with a reminder next week…

I made him this super simple but adorable card.

I also made these fake tickets (you buy the real tickets at the gate)

And I put them inside.

I’m gonna put the card, a blanket, and two bottles of Jones soda together and leave it where he’ll see it right when he walks in the door! Whala! Instant happiness. At least I hope so!

Stay tuned to see what happens next Thursday :)

*UPDATE* - Devin loved it! I ended up replacing the fake tickets for real tickets after I realized they were selling out fast.  He was super excited and we even ended up taking one of our friends with us!

Couple Friendly FHE

Something that has been hard to incorporate since we’ve been married is FHE (Family Home Evening).  We would end up throwing something together last minute on Monday night or we would eventually end up going out. And on top of it all, it’s hard to make it feel like anything less than a weird glorified date night if you don’t have children.

Well, in order to change things up, I asked our cute neighbors Chris and Casey (who don’t have children either) if they wanted to combine FHE with us. This Monday was our first. We even ended up having dinner together (Lasagna.. mm!)

We opened with a small lesson about family history work, ate some yummy brownies and ice cream, and went over to BYU’s paleontology exhibit. It was open until 9 and totally free! It was perfect and so fun. Sharing FHE with another couple was such a great idea… can’t wait till next Monday!

Date night!

Devin and I have been itching to get out of Orem.  We just planned a trip to St. George but we still weren't satisfied. Last night we decided to skip mini golf and head up to Heber for our date! It was so nice to get out of the smog and breathe in some clean air. We drove around the town checking out cool places and finally decided to eat at Cafe Galleria. It was this adorable little house fashioned into an Italian pizza restaurant. We ate outside as the sun was setting. The pizza was delicious! There was live music and it was actually really romantic.. It's definitely one of our favorites now and we'll be back!

Devin's face here is priceless!

Travel Agent... Whaat??

Last night Devin and I were talking about making a last ditch effort to getaway for the weekend before the summer froze over. With my knee surgery I haven't really been able to move well, let alone vacation! But, in the past few weeks I've been able to walk a little bit better, so we figured we better make some plans.

While I was busying myself planning our little  two day getaway, Devin was thinking up a great concoction. He told me that I would be a great travel agent.  I thought it over and loved the idea. I'd actually considered it before, but I didn't think it was plausible to make good money! Well, it turns out we have a close friend that just started her own travel agency and she has done really well so far.

So, we have a plan.... Next summer I'm going to take online classes to get my travel agent certification, and slowly ease my way into the travel planning world that year and start to build up a small clientele. After I graduate with my bachelors in English, I'm going to work on my travel agency! Here's to big plans and great ideas! Hopefully this is me in just a year or so.... :) Cheers!
